Are Butterflies safe to ship?

YES! Our butterflies are hand placed into individual envelopes with their wings
together to protect them. As butterflies are cold-blooded insects, they are then
secured in an insulated box with a cold pack. They will simply take a nap until
you are ready to release them. It is important to replace the cold pack, as
needed, to ensure the butterflies rest comfortably.

How Long do Butterflies Live?

Each butterfly species has their own unique life cycle.
Monarchs live as butterflies on average 2 to 6 weeks, except for the last
generation that can surpass 8 months!
Painted Ladies live as butterflies between 2 to 4 weeks.

Where do butterflies go after release?

The butterflies are free to live out the remainder of their natural lives as any other butterfly. Their role as pollinators begins the moment they fly away! Feeding on nectar and beginning a new generation of butterflies is at the forefront of their existence! 80% of agricultural crops require pollination. You and your butterflies
are helping make this possible!

What temperature do butterflies need to be released?

It is best to have daytime  temperatures of 65 degrees or above for a successful release. Cooler temperatures result in inactive butterflies. It is also best not to release them in the dark, rain, or during high winds.
